Job summary

Communications Engineering Company (CEC) seeks a Systems Specialist to lead the physical installation of security systems on multiple projects in Kansas City. You will collaborate with the project team to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to industry codes and best practices.

You will review project plans, coordinate resources, perform site evaluations, and mentor junior technicians while supporting 24/7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications

4+ years of technology experience within CEC or similar company.
Two industry certifications (NICET, Bicsi, CTS, etc.) preferred.
Certifications can/will be obtained during the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

Review project information with key personnel to address questions.
Evaluate potential problems, coordinate resources, PPE, and equipment.
Review system functionality, schedule, and plan with customer; verify locations and hazards.
Oversee site walk-throughs to verify locations and safety hazards.
Lead daily work plans, ensure safe practices, and document progress.
Perform site evaluations, safety inspections, and quality assurance.
Inspect installation against quality standards and mentor team members.
Create punch lists, test systems, and coordinate customer training.
Assist with basic programming and connect the system to the network.
Support on-site training and mentoring of less experienced staff.
Submit documentation and obtain customer sign-off upon project completion.
Provide input for process improvement and ongoing project success.
Support 24/7 On-Call rotation as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
