Job summary

USC’s Facilities Planning & Management seeks a Locksmith – Module C to lead lock system maintenance, high-security keying, and access control projects on the University Park campus. Responsibilities include installing electrified hardware, re-keying, and supervising journeymen and technicians.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of four-year apprenticeship program.
  • 5 Years of journeyman experience; four years’ trainee experience may substitute for apprenticeship.
  • Experience in industrial/commercial locksmithing; knowledge of lock systems, safety codes and building codes.
  • Experience operating key cutting and code cutting machines; maintaining records and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Perform alterations, maintenance and repairs on lock systems and access control hardware.
  • Install electrified hardware, panic hardware, locksets and electronic releases.
  • Maintain and update key records; order materials as required; train junior staff.
  • Lead and supervise journeymen and technicians; prioritize work and monitor timelines.
