Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an engineer to own LOCA safety analyses for BWR facilities. You will convert drawings into analytical models and translate findings into concise documentation.

You’ll serve as the primary LOCA contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with licensing bases. The role requires a nuclear-focused engineering degree and at least four years in safety analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the nuclear industry.
• Minimum 4 years focused on safety analysis.
• Proficiency: Engineering Degree.

Responsibilities

• Own design-basis LOCA safety analyses for BWR facilities.
• Convert plant drawings/specifications into robust analytical models.
• Interrogate two-phase flow and heat-transfer correlations to ensure appropriate application.
• Translate results into concise, technically sound documentation.
• Act as the go-to contact for plant-specific LOCA questions across internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain cognizance of each unit’s licensing basis.
• Assess how design or operating changes influence design analyses.
