The ideal candidate has strong cooking fundamentals, leadership, and a commitment to high food quality and sanitation. You’ll prep, cook, and maintain stations with minimal supervision, especially when the Chef is away, ensuring a consistent, exceptional dining experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Culinary knowledge and experience.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment effectively.
• Ability to multi-task and manage various kitchen responsibilities.
• Knowledge of HACCP and safety & sanitation requirements.
• Clear communication in primary language with proper grammar.
• Flexible to work long hours, including weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Chef on duty.
• Assist in creating and preparing menu items with fresh, seasonal ingredients in a scratch kitchen.
• Work independently across all kitchen areas with minimal supervision.
• Stay informed about current food trends and contribute to daily specials.
• Maintain high standards and consistent food quality daily.
• Assist with receiving and proper storage of products.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all kitchen stations (grill, sauté, garde manger).
• Communicate effectively to request assistance and ensure smooth operations.
• Operate all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare food items per company specs, standards and recipes.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in all food areas.
• Monitor food quality and quantities.
• Support line staff and perform line checks before shifts.
• Notify chefs of overstock to minimize waste.
• Perform all duties assigned by the Chef on duty.
