Job Overview

Ensure proper service through quality control, training of line cooks, and maintaining sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Verify all items against recipe cards and use records, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Monitor line setup for efficiency during meal periods.
  • Maintain equipment and enforce kitchen cleanliness policies.
  • Prepare food following recipes and standards, coordinating with servers.
  • Manage pre-prepared food, avoiding overproduction.
  • Label, date, and rotate perishables per SOP, maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Check stock levels, plan preparations, and address shortages.
  • Store unused food properly, covering and dating perishables.
  • Assist in controlling food costs and minimizing waste per SOP.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

1-2 years in a related role with Sage or similar organization.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Understanding of cooking practices and kitchen procedures.

Physical Demands

Lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 70 lbs; climb, bend, and stand for long periods; work in varying temperatures; communicate effectively; follow instructions.
