Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an Experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson (CDL preferred) to oversee a 2–5 person crew delivering pruning and removal services for major electric utilities in Guernsey and Tuscarawas counties, including Cambridge, Dover and New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License - Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide and related licenses/certifications if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2–5 person tree crew in pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees; trim or remove limbs.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other structures.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with planning and execution of assignments.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Mentor and train new employees.
