Job summary

Vail Resorts in Kirkwood, CA is seeking a Lift Operations Team Lead to oversee daily lift operations, manage staff, and ensure safe, efficient service for guests during the 2026/2027 winter season.

The role requires 1–2 years of operations experience, a high school diploma, fluency in English, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Housing is available, and employees receive industry-leading compensation and ski perks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily lift operations, including staff scheduling and opening/closing procedures.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and documenting performance.
  • Ensure guest safety and compliance with laws and policies.
  • Collaborate with ski patrol, mountain safety, lift maintenance, and lift electric to resolve issues.
  • Promote clean and organized workstations.
  • Handle guest questions and provide timely resolutions.
  • Assist with ticket scanning as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Lift Operations Team Lead

Job Specifications
  • Starting wage: $22.00/hr – $29.22/hr.
  • Employment type: Winter seasonal 2026/2027.
  • Shift type: Full time hours available; 8–10 hours per day.
  • Weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Skill level: Team Lead.
  • Minimum age: 18 years or older.
  • Housing availability: Yes.
Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of previous lift or mountain operations experience.
  • Physically capable of assisting guests while loading lifts; may lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Fluent communication in English.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, standing and moving on potentially slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
