Job summary

The Pueblo of Sandia is seeking a professional Lifeguard to supervise swimmers and support pool safety operations in Bernalillo, NM. The role includes training and scheduling lifeguards, maintaining certifications, and coordinating in water rescue procedures to ensure patron safety.

You will teach swim lessons, assist in pool maintenance, and act as Pool Manager in their absence, contributing to a safe, welcoming wellness environment for the community.

Qualifications

• Must be an excellent swimmer.
• Ability to work under limited supervision.
• Ability to work with both children and adults.
• Knowledge of first aid and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure swimmers are supervised in the pool and on decks.
• Onboard and orient new lifeguards; ensure current training and certifications.
• Assist with scheduling lifeguards for adequate coverage during hours.
• Ensure lifeguards follow safety regulations and policies.
• Interact with patrons to address concerns and problems.
• Teach individual and group swim lessons and other water activities.
