Job summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking an Aquatic Campus Recreation Coordinator to support the operations of three aquatic facilities, including the Olympic Pool, Therapy Pool, and a 25-yard pool. The role reports to the Aquatics Manager and ensures safe daily operations for UNM teams, Learn to Swim, and the university community.

You will supervise lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors, coordinate learn-to-swim and event logistics, conduct safety inspections, and maintain logs while working

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience in aquatic facilities and student staff.
• Knowledge of NCAA and NMED aquatic safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operations of three aquatic facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors; manage learn-to-swim logistics.
• Coordinate schedule and events for pool activities and NCAA/USA Swimming meets.
• Enforce pool rules and conduct routine safety inspections; maintain logs.
• Prepare operational reports and support budget tracking; work evenings and weekends.
