Job summary

The Pueblo of Sandia is seeking a dedicated pool attendant at the Aquatics Center to ensure safety and deliver swim instruction. This role requires vigilance, strong communication, and the ability to guide both children and adults in aquatic activities.

Ideal candidates hold Lifeguard (and preferably CPO) certifications, meet background checks, and can maintain water quality. The position supports a collaborative team and may involve flexible duties within the recreation program.

Qualifications

• Must be an excellent swimmer.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to meet background check requirements.
• Six months of related aquatics experience or demonstrated expertise.
• Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.
• Lifeguard and CPO certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety in the pool area at all times.
• Teaches individual and group swim lessons.
• Monitors equipment operation and safety; maintains water quality standards.
• Reports unsafe conditions to management and adheres to attendance policies.
• Assists Recreation staff and supports a flexible, expert-level team.

Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Pool Manager.
