Job summary

State of Oklahoma is hiring a Lead Licensing Examiner to conduct driver’s license interviews, examinations, and inspections across an assigned district. You will determine eligibility for licenses or state IDs in line with state and federal standards.

The role includes issuing or denying driving privileges, coordinating with law enforcement, and maintaining accurate license records. Strong knowledge of licensing rules and the ability to train staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or four years of technical clerical office work, or an equivalent combination.
• Level II requires CCKE certification; Lead requires six months of experience in the Product & Experience division.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine license or identification needs; review and verify documents; determine eligibility.
• Advise applicants on reasons for denial and procedures to resolve issues including expert testimony on medical disqualifications.
• Evaluate medical, physical, or mental information and advise on waivers or restrictions; guide waiver processes.
• Conduct in-depth vehicle safety inspections and administer vision, written, pre-trip and skills tests; evaluate applicant performance.
• Establish driver’s license records with confidentiality and security in compliance with laws.
• Assist Legal Division in gathering evidence for potential action on fraudulent applications.
• Respond to inquiries from motor license agents and inform on laws and procedures; suggest changes to driver’s license laws.
• Cross-train in other sections and perform duties as assigned.
