Job summary

640 SERVICE OKLAHOMA is seeking a Licensing Examiner to conduct driver’s license interviews, examinations (visual, written, and road), and inspections to determine eligibility for licenses or state IDs in accordance with State and Federal rules.

You will administer tests, verify documents, and ensure compliance. There are multiple levels (Level I/II/Lead) with training and potential travel as required; a valid OK driver’s license is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or four years of technical clerical office work OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CCKE certification for Level II.
• Preference for candidates with prior customer service experience and DMV process familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine license or ID needs; verify documents and eligibility.
• Explain reasons for denial and how to resolve issues, including expert testimony on medical disqualifications.
• Evaluate medical/physical/mental information per state/federal standards and advise on waivers or restrictions.
• Perform vehicle safety inspections and administer vision, written, pre-trip, and skills tests.
• Assess applicant performance to ensure safe operation and compliance with laws.
• Maintain driver’s license records securely and confidentially.
• Assist Legal Division with gathering evidence for potential legal action.
• Respond to inquiries from motor license agents and public; advise on laws and procedures.
• Conduct hearings and interviews related to license suspensions, revocations, and restrictions.
• Level II & Lead – Proctor CDL exams (CCKE certified); lead training for staff.
• Review timesheets and manage timesheet accuracy.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or four years of technical clerical office work or equivalent combination
