Job summary

Mercer County Library System seeks a Librarian 3 to lead the Ewing Branch Reference & Adult Services Department, overseeing collection development, adult programming, and staff supervision. This leadership role acts for the branch manager when unavailable and fosters excellent library experiences in a vibrant community.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited institution and a valid NJ Professional Librarian's Certificate are required, with at least two years of professional experience.
• Supervisory experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert reference and reader's advisory services to library patrons.
• Guide patrons in utilizing print and electronic resources.
• Assist with material selection and collection development.
• Initiate and participate in outreach events.
• Plan and execute programs for adults.
• Plan and implement the adult summer reading program.
• Oversee and implement branch exam proctoring services and tax assistance program.
• Compile monthly and annual statistics and annual report of reference services and adult programs.
• Provide one-on-one technology assistance as needed.
• Assist at circulation and Youth Services when needed.
