Job summary

Manassas Park City Library is seeking its next library leader to guide operations and community service. The Director I will oversee staff, manage relationships with city officials, and ensure contract requirements are met within a single-location system.

You'll drive customer-focused service, evaluate performance, and lead initiatives to improve access to materials while adhering to library policies and budgets.

Qualifications

• MLIS degree required.
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience analyzing financial reports and library data (usage, demographics, trends).
• Experience interacting with patrons and addressing patron issues.
• Demonstrated integrity, ethical behavior, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt, plan, and lead strategically.

Responsibilities

• Lead library operations and staff to deliver high-quality service.
• Evaluate environments and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Report to VP of Library Operations and coordinate with leadership via regular meetings.
• Coach staff to achieve operational goals and manage staffing levels.
• Manage customer relationships with city/county officials and boards.
• Oversee acquisitions and processing of materials within budget.
