Job summary

RJ Lawn & Landscape in Waukee, IA is seeking a Landscape Install Crew Leader to guide an on-site crew in executing landscape designer plans on residential and commercial projects. You will supervise daily operations, manage timekeeping, materials, and safety, and ensure work aligns with project specifications.

Responsibilities include planning job sequences, coordinating deliveries, maintaining equipment, recording progress, and communicating with homeowners.

Qualifications

• Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.
• ICPI certification must be maintained.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license required for vehicle operation.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and working on varied terrain.
• Experience operating landscape construction tools listed in qualifications.
• Wear PPE as required and follow safety procedures.
• Read and comprehend technical information and plans.
• Demonstrate basic math skills and conversions.
• Ability to lead and train crew members effectively.
• Overtime flexibility and ability to work year-round.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Landscape Install crew on site, upholding RJ Lawn & Landscape quality and safety standards.
• Review daily schedule, job location, scope, and materials; confirm crew readiness.
• Inspect devices, clock crew, and verify equipment before departure.
• Brief crew on roles and install sequence; ensure understanding of plans.
• Park and secure vehicles; document any site damage and report discrepancies.
• Plan job sequences and coordinate delivery of equipment and materials.
• Record time and materials in iCREWtek for each task performed.
• Perform daily site walk-throughs for quality and cleanliness; update homeowners.
• Report incidents and property damage; photograph and log events.
• Clean site, store equipment, and prep for following day.
• Assist in monthly inventory of tools and supplies with the manager.
• Participate in annual performance reviews and pursue skill growth.
• Attend company meetings and continuing education as required.
• Perform snow removal duties as part of year-round employment.
• Promote safety procedures, policies, and RJ Lawn & Landscape vision.
• Support and uphold company values in daily work.
