Job summary

San Bernardino County Land Use Services Department's Land Development Division is seeking a Senior Land Use Technician- Land Development Engineering to lead plan reviews and ensure compliance with regulations, shaping development in one of the county's most diverse regions. The role requires mentoring staff, coordinating with public and internal teams, and effectively communicating complex requirements to applicants.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time equivalent experience in engineering, land use, planning, building safety, or code enforcement.
• ICC Certification as a building technician or related ICC certificate may substitute for six months of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Review complex development or engineering construction plans for completeness and conformance to regulations.
• Process initial applications and update permitting software; calculate fees; research property information including zoning, hazard overlays, and land use.
• Mentor and guide staff to foster teamwork and provide excellent customer service; may represent supervisors during meetings.
