Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Land Development Project Engineer to join our Land Development Team in Parsippany, NJ. You will apply advanced engineering expertise to planning, design, permitting, and execution of impactful land development projects.

Take ownership of key components, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor emerging engineers while delivering buildable solutions that create lasting value for clients and communities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
Minimum of 4 years of civil site design experience required.
Experience with municipal engineering clients preferred.
Site design experience related to manufacturing facilities preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office.
Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for land development projects including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility infrastructure
Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize design or delivery issues
Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutions
Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff
