Job summary

Intertek in St. Louis seeks a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Lead Technician to coordinate and perform laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt, ensuring ASTM, AASHTO, and USACE standards are met.

You will manage testing programs, data entry, equipment calibration, and client communication. The role requires a High School diploma, 3+ years in a testing lab, and certifications such as ACI; MoDOT / CTQP certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years' experience in a material testing laboratory.
• ACI Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; basic computer knowledge.
• Moderate lifting required.
• Associate degree (preferred).
• ACI or MoDOT Certifications in Concrete Strength/Aggregate Testing (preferred).
• CTQP Certified LBR Testing Certificate (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Enter data from laboratory tests into reports.
• Maintain and develop laboratory testing programs.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment; track maintenance.
• Understand ASTM standards, AASHTO, and USACE documentation.
• Perform physical lab testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt per ASTM procedures.
• Interpret test procedures, specifications and results and communicate them clearly to team and clients.
• Have knowledge of equipment, test methods and applicable specifications.
• Utilize computers/software to perform duties efficiently.
