Intertek in St. Louis seeks a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Lead Technician to coordinate and perform laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt, ensuring ASTM, AASHTO, and USACE standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; basic computer knowledge.
  • Moderate lifting required.
  • Associate degree (preferred).
  • ACI or MoDOT Certifications in Concrete Strength/Aggregate Testing (preferred).
  • CTQP Certified LBR Testing Certificate (preferred).

Responsibilities

Laboratory Lead Technician - Construction Materials Testing - St. Louis, Missouri

What are we looking for?

The Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Lead Technician will support the Building and Construction business by coordinating, managing, monitoring, and performing of assigned laboratory testing. We’re looking for a candidate who can effectively manage and perform necessary testing’s while providing exceptional customer service.

What you’ll do:
  • Enter data gathered from laboratory tests into reports
  • Maintain and develop laboratory testing programs
  • Handle laboratory equipment, including performing equipment calibrations and tracking equipment maintenance
  • Must understand ASTM standards, AASHTO, and USACE documentation ACI, FDOT, ICC and/or NICET level 1 certifications required to manage an CMEC accredited laboratory
  • This position will require the physical laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with applicable ASTM procedures
  • Technical competence to interpret and effectively communicate test procedures, specifications and results with team members, customers, consultants, and specifiers
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of all equipment, test methods / methodology and applicable specifications associated with areas of responsibility
  • Experience and skills that facilitates an understanding of computers and software to perform the job duties efficiently and effectively

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years' experience working in a material testing laboratory
  • ACI Certification

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and basic computer knowledge
  • Moderate lifting required as part of day-to-day job functions
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Associate degree from a technical or four-year school
  • Experience managing a construction materials laboratory is highly
  • ACI or MoDOT Certifications in any of the following:Concrete Strength, Aggregate Base, Aggregate Testing
  • CTQP Certified LBR Testing Certificate
