Job summary

Carson Valley Health in Gardnerville, NV is seeking a Lead Lab Assistant for full-time employment. The role involves drawing blood, collecting specimens, performing EKGs, processing samples in the LIS, and supervising Lab Assistants under the Lab Director.

You will also ensure accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance within the outpatient lab operations. The position requires a high school diploma, NV licensure eligibility within 30 days, and a minimum of 5 years in a similar role, with BLS

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent and eligible for Nevada Lab Assistant licensure within 30 days of hire.
BLS certification is required by American Heart Association.
Minimum 5 years of full-time Laboratory Assistant/phlebotomist experience.
Experience with medical terminology and data entry is highly preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; hospital or customer service background preferred.

Responsibilities

Obtain blood, urine and other clinical specimens with proper labeling and handling.
Perform EKGs according to established procedures and guidelines.
Process specimens and deliver to clinical laboratory; log and ship as needed.
Enter laboratory orders into LIS accurately and promptly.
Maintain supplies, equipment, and cleanliness of lab areas.
Supervise Lab Assistants and Lab Clerk in coordination with the Lab Director.
Support quality initiatives and ensure patient safety and timely reporting.
