Job summary

Carson Valley Heath seeks a Lead Lab Assistant to support the laboratory workflow at its Gardnerville, NV facility. The role includes collecting specimens, performing EKGs, and managing sample processing to ensure accurate results.

Candidates should have at least 5 years as a Lab Assistant/phlebotomist, be licensed or eligible for licensure in Nevada, and hold AHA BLS certification. Hospital or customer service experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Lab Assistant in Nevada (within 30 days).
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ full-time experience as Laboratory Assistant/phlebotomist.
• Experience with medical terminology and data entry preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Previous hospital or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood, urine and other clinical specimens in a manner to ensure acceptable and properly identified samples.
• Performs EKGs according to established procedures.
• Collects and processes urine and hair for drug screens; breath alcohol analysis if certified.
• Processes laboratory samples and delivers to clinical laboratory; prepares specimens for shipment to other laboratories as appropriate.
