Job summary

Zoot Pet Hospital in Georgetown, TX is seeking a Lead Kennel Assistant to care for boarding and hospitalized pets, ensuring daily feeding, exercise, and comfort. You will be a frontline caregiver and liaison with owners during check-ins and check-outs, documenting instructions and preparing each pet for a safe, happy return home.

You will monitor health, administer medications, maintain clean facilities, and provide extra TLC upon request.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must have or be pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and infectious disease control.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care to boarding pets and hospitalized patients (feeding, watering, exercising).
• Handle check-ins/check-outs and document feeding/medication instructions.
• Monitor patient health and report issues to doctors/technicians.
• Administer medications and flea/tick control; record instructions.
• Maintain clean cages, runs, yards, and feeding areas with PPE.
