Job summary

Cedarcrest Animal Hospital in Acworth, GA is seeking a Lead Kennel Assistant to join our team. You will be the primary caretaker for boarding and hospitalized guests, ensuring high-quality daily care, feeding, and exercise, and you will manage client interactions during check-ins and check-outs.

You’ll work with a team of veterinarians and staff dedicated to compassionate care, infection control, and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must be in the process of obtaining or have attained a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reasoning, remembering, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking English) to perform duties proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Providing Compassionate Care: daily care to boarding pets and hospitalized patients, including feeding, watering, and exercising them according to schedule.
• Managing Admissions and Discharges: check-ins and check-outs, recording feeding/medication instructions, labeling belongings, and ensuring pets go home clean and happy.
• Monitoring Patient Health: walking the kennel area to check for abnormal activity and reporting issues to doctors and technicians.
• Administering Medications: delivering medications and flea/tick control and recording instructions on the kennel board.
• Maintaining a Clean Environment: cleaning and disinfecting cages, runs, yards, litter boxes, and bowls with PPE.
• Delivering TLC: extra playtimes, walks, or baths on request.
