Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) who works under a Foreman or Superintendent and may supervise a small crew. Duties include installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, conductors and equipment, with opportunities to learn in low voltage, controls, process work and fire alarm.

The role requires performing conduit work, installing devices, reading blueprints, and mentoring Helpers and Apprentices on site, with flexibility for weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Equipped with tools required by company policy to perform assigned tasks.
• Demonstrate the Amteck Way in daily work activities, behavior and decision making.
• Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.
• Interest and aptitude to learn job-related material on the job site.
• Demonstrate a team-player mentality by listening and working with others safely.
• Ability to read basic construction documents used daily.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, brand circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
