FIS is seeking a Software Architect Lead in Jacksonville, FL, to own deep technical analysis of payment platforms under load and drive significant performance improvements. You will profile running systems, measure behavior and prove optimizations that boost throughput and reduce latency.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on software engineering with deep Java/JVM expertise.
• Proven experience in performance engineering for complex systems.
• Solid understanding of concurrency, memory management and I/O behavior.

Responsibilities

• Profile Java applications end-to-end to identify hot paths and bottlenecks.
• Analyze thread dumps and optimize locks, thread pools and contention.
• Use metrics and logs to drive performance improvements across layers.
• Prototype and validate optimization ideas for throughput and latency.
• Provide architecture guidance for scalable, resilient platforms.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to implement changes.
