Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking a Lead Java Developer to guide sprint execution, drive software delivery quality, and manage a team of engineers across healthcare technology initiatives. This hands-on leadership role blends technical depth with people management and delivery accountability.

Lead sprint execution, establish CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with Product Owners to align product vision with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in software engineering.
Experience managing a team of software engineers.
Strong technical background in Java, Spring Boot, React JS, or comparable modern tech stacks.
Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
Hands-on experience establishing CI/CD pipelines and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

Lead sprint execution with the scrum team; participate in daily scrum calls.
Own resource planning, forecasting, and onboarding of new team members.
Drive team building, development, and continuous improvement.
Size and estimate for new initiatives, projects, and backlog features.
Collaborate with architecture teams on design for new projects and features.
Partner with Product Owners/Product Managers to understand product vision and metrics.
Create and maintain software delivery frameworks that ensure quality.
Establish and enforce code review processes and coding standards.
Establish automated quality control processes (CI/CD pipelines with checks, automated testing).
Ensure code is maintainable, reusable, scalable, and performant.
