Job summary

Merit Medical Systems, Inc. is seeking a dedicated janitor to perform a broad range of cleaning and facilities-support tasks at our Utah location.

The role involves floor care, sanitizing rooms, stocking supplies, and assisting with special events and meetings while following established standards and regulations. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic reading/writing ability, and strong customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a high school degree and six months of related work experience.
• Ability to follow simple written and oral instructions, and to read and follow directions.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to follow through on assigned tasks.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and assigns work, as designated and reviewed by the supervisor.
• Trains janitors regarding work responsibilities.
• Responds to and fulfills customer requests.
• Ensures cleaning areas meet established standards/guidelines of cleanliness, stock levels, etc.
• Investigates discrepancies and reports them to management, recommending improvements.
• Assists with maintaining a positive working environment and customer relationships.
• Notifies supervisor of attendance, safety, quality equipment, process issues.
• May perform various janitorial duties such as cleaning/sanitizing/sweeping/dusting rooms/equipment.
• Assists with recycling program by collecting and disposing of products.
• Operates cleaning equipment and uses cleaning chemicals safely.
• Assists facilities in the set-up of meetings, training sessions and special events.
• Complete appropriate checklists of cleaning the clean rooms as required by regulations.
• Performs other duties and tasks, as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensures cleaning areas meet established standards/guidelines of cleanliness, stock levels, etc.

Janitor Responsibilities

• May perform various janitorial duties such as cleaning/sanitizing/sweeping/dusting various rooms/equipment.
• Assists with recycling program by collecting and disposing of products such as aluminum, paper, shrink-wrap, and cardboard.
• Works with supervisor to order cleaning supplies needed in cleaning and maintaining facilities.
• Operates cleaning equipment and uses cleaning chemicals safely and properly in performing cleaning and maintenance assignments. This may include vacuuming carpeting and hard surfaces using upright vacuum. Spot cleans carpets and mops floors.
• Assists facilities in the set-up of meetings, training sessions and special events..
• Complete appropriate checklists of cleaning the clean rooms as required by regulations.
• Performs other duties and tasks, as needed.
