Job summary

CarMax in Austin, TX is seeking a Lead Inventory Associate to oversee daily inventory operations, coordinate Inventory Associates, and ensure accuracy, security, and presentation of vehicles.

You will work with the Reconditioning Production Manager, conduct cosmetic inspections, manage vehicle movement, and uphold CarMax EH&S standards while delivering outstanding service to customers.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data for accurate record-keeping.
• Proven capability to lead a team and collaborate across departments.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Inventory Associates to complete daily tasks.
• Maintain display areas and work-in-process zones for cleanliness and security.
• Oversee vehicle receiving, scanning, and reconciliation for accurate inventory records.
• Inspect cosmetic condition and ensure saleable inventory meets standards.
• Facilitate vehicle movement on and off the lot to support flow.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and serve as a resource for staff and customers.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
