Job summary

Fair Lane Estate seeks an Interpretations & Education Programs Manager to lead a new team of 15–18 facilitators and build a robust training and evaluation program for public tours and events. You will collaborate with the Director of Interpretation & Education and liaise across departments to deliver engaging experiences for adults, including lectures, workshops, and rentals.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading and developing programmatic teams in a museum or historic site.
  • Proven ability to design and evaluate public tours and education programs.
  • Strong collaboration with internal departments and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a new 15–18 part-time facilitator cohort.
  • Co-lead recruitment for facilitator staff and interview candidates.
  • Cover facilitator shifts to ensure uninterrupted programs.
  • Oversee daily operations of interpretation spaces and equipment.
  • Provide cross-department training on site interpretation.
  • Learn and apply content related to the Fair Lane Estate's history and collections.
  • Serve as lead facilitator on projects, guiding learning outcomes.
  • Coordinate programs, including speakers, panels, and hands-on workshops.
  • Provide interpretive support for events and rentals beyond hours.
  • Evaluate tours and programs to inform improvements.
  • Assist in developing policies for public experiences.
  • Manage admin tasks and budgeting related to programming.
  • Support annual budget projections for program expenses and revenue.
