Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a seasoned Process Quality Internal Auditor III to lead and execute internal audits, ensuring QMS compliance and driving continuous improvement. The role emphasizes advanced auditing, regulatory compliance, and leadership within a defense/aerospace context.

We expect extensive experience, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor junior staff while collaborating across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years as an auditor, or in a related field.
• In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience is required.
• Advanced knowledge and utilization of AS9100, ISO 9001 and other applicable Military and statutory standards and specifications.
• Experience participating in external audits as guide.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct complex internal audits to ensure QMS compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and manage audit schedules, ensuring timely and effective execution.
• Ensure comprehensive adherence to ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
• Lead the development and implementation of corrective actions for audit findings.
• Drive strategic process improvement initiatives and support continuous quality enhancement.
• Train and mentor junior auditors and other staff on quality standards and audit procedures.
• Collaborate with various departments to integrate quality standards into all processes.
• Develop strategies for ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Manage external audits and supplier audits.
