Job summary

Alten USA is seeking a Design Release Engineer, Interior Door Trim in Newark, CA. The role requires an experienced professional to design, release and launch interior door trim components for premium vehicles within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, apply CAD tools (CATIA) for concept through SOP, and drive development with a focus on quality, safety and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Fluent English with technical engineering terminology.
• 3+ years leading Interior Components and Systems development (IP, Center Console, Door Trim).
• Knowledge of automotive interior components industry trends and supplier capabilities.
• Experience defining specs and timelines to accelerate development to SOP.
• Proficient in CAD for 2D/3D concept drawings, packaging, DFM studies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a world-class Interior Components and Systems engineering team.
• Lead design, release and launch of interior Door Trim components for premium vehicles.
• Create interior Door Trim with focus on luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, packaging and ergonomics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize vehicle benefits over individual systems.
• Work with interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery.
• Develop and apply tools and innovative approaches to support development.
• Interface with Crash Safety to meet homologation requirements.
• Lead the supplier-Validation interface to run DVP/ V that meets targets.
