Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Design Release Engineer for Interior Door Trim in Newark, CA. You will join a global engineering team dedicated to premium automotive interior components, leading design releases and coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional partners to meet aggressive SOP timelines.

The role requires CAD expertise (CATIA V5/V6), mold flow understanding, and a track record of launching interior components for vehicle programs.

Qualifications

Fluent English including technical engineering terminology.
3+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (for one or more: IP, Center Console, Door Trim).
Experience creating/improving/establishing technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP.

Responsibilities

Be a significant contributor to a world-class Interior Components and Systems engineering team.
Develop, design lead, release and launch interior Door Trim components on premium vehicles.
Create industry-leading Interior Door Trim with luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, packaging, ergonomics, and functionality.
Work interactively within a cross-functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, prioritizing vehicle-wide benefits.
Collaborate with Interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery.
Interface with Crash Safety team to ensure the design meets homologation requirements.
Lead the interface between supplier and Validation team to run DVPV that meets targets.
