Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an Exterior Trim DRE to own the engineering development and release of exterior trim components for new vehicle programs, from concept through production launch. You will coordinate design, manufacturing, supplier, quality, validation, and vehicle-integration activities to meet targets for function, appearance, durability, cost, and timing.

The role requires experience with A-surface components, tooling, DFMEAs, and 3DEXPERIENCE, along with strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• Experience engineering and releasing automotive exterior trim parts, including A-surface components.
• Experience taking parts from concept through tooling, testing, verification, and launch.
• Working knowledge of 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) for product definition and lifecycle data.
• Experience developing or maintaining DFMEAs and managing design risk.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and product requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release exterior trim components through production launch.
• Define component requirements, interfaces, packaging, and design direction with cross-functional teams.
• Lead design reviews and supplier discussions; resolve geometry, appearance, fit, cost, and timing issues.
• Prepare and review drawings, models, specifications, and change documentation.
• Lead tooling kick-off and track progress through reviews, trials, and inspections.
• Plan testing, verification, and validation; track results and resolve failures.
• Develop and maintain DFMEAs and reflect mitigations in the plan.
• Support build events, manufacturing readiness, and launch activities.
• Manage interfaces with body structure, lighting, sealing, and other exterior components.
