Job description

Landis Architects | Builders is looking for a talented full-time Senior Interior Designer who is ready to use their creativity to create beautiful surroundings for our clients, mentor junior staff, and become an essential part of our interior design offerings. Our design process emphasizes creativity and independence, so designers get to develop concepts for clients and let their design skills shine. Our focus is on the Design-Build process, so we are looking for interior designers who have extensive experience in design, specification, ordering, procurement, and installation of residential interiors. We are also looking for a candidate with extensive experience in FF&E/Interior Decorating. In this role, you will manage the continued expansion of Landis' FF&E/Interior Decorating business.

TOP PAY & BENEFITS PACKAGE (salary is commensurate with experience)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with our in-house Architects/Project Designers on residential design/build projects, functioning as the in-house Interior Designer on those projects. On relevant projects, function as the Lead Designer on the project.
  • Contribute to schematic plans as needed, develop interior elevations, and update plans to include interior specifications, using Cheif Architect or Revit.
  • Develop selections presentations, and manage the process of client selections using Design Files.
  • Lead the Interior Design process on your projects, scheduling and leading client meetings, showroom visits, etc.
  • Partner with the Project Development team to ensure client happiness, develop complete contracts and project documentation, and collaborate with the Construction Team to facilitate a smooth construction process.
  • Manage logistics for furniture/decor ordering and install days.
  • Mentor and train Interior Design staff.
  • Ensure project completion within the allocated budget and timeline.
  • Oversee cabinetry ordering, reviews, and quality control.
  • Develop and expand client and vendor relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Residential Interior Designer with a minimum of 8+ years of experience
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
  • Excellent Chief Architect, Revit experience is a plus.
  • Ability to develop strong design concepts and accurately document them in design presentations and construction documents
  • Experience with cabinetry ordering, installation management, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of and strong connections with local vendors and material suppliers
  • Proficient experience with space planning, FF&E specifications, material selections, and codes
  • Proficient experience with the construction administration process in residential and light commercial projects
  • Excellent 3D graphic rendering skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid work permit (USA)
  • Progress toward NCIDQ Certification (preferred but not required)
