Job summary

You will direct and evaluate technical staff, review design specs, exercise authority to halt operations if needed, and lead formal assessments and root-cause analyses to implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Direct, assign work to, and evaluate the performance of technical personnel and interns in the Operations Division.
• Manage oversight of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory prime contract to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, health, and security requirements.
• Evaluate design specifications and safety documents to verify adherence to established safety standards.
• Exercise technical authority to halt facility operations when necessary to protect worker safety, public health, or the environment.
• Lead formal assessments and root-cause analyses of workplace incidents to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
