Why you should join
- Client builds OS, the first AI-native operating system for chemists. Scientists in 30+ countries use it to speed up materials and chemicals R&D.
- Backed by Coatue, TCV, Index Ventures, and JPMorgan, with $50M raised since 2021. You'll join right as clients are becoming the go-to daily platform for the world's top chemical companies.
- Lead Integrations Engineer role with $155k–$170k base plus stock options. It's fully remote in US time zones (East Coast's a plus) with customer travel about once a quarter.
Must Have:
- Customer-facing experience leading technical projects end-to-end involving APIs, data synchronization, or system orchestration (scoping through go-live)
- Hands-on experience with ETL and data pipelines
Required:
- 5 - 15 years of experience as a software engineer, integrations engineer, data engineer, or solutions engineer who owned/scoped data or integration projects end-to-end (vs. answering tickets)
- Expertise in Python or Node. js, RESTful and event-driven architectures, and AWS
- Willingness to travel for customer visits (approximately once per quarter)
Nice to Have:
- Experience at a startup or in the chemical, materials, or life sciences industries (Citrine, Uncountable, Dow, 3M)
- Databricks experience or certification
Red Flags:
Data engineers accustomed only to ticket-taking without end-to-end ownership
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a Lead Integrations Engineer with 5+ years of experience to own enterprise data integrations and migrations from start to finish for the world's top chemical companies. The client is becoming the main platform chemists use every day, and customers increasingly need the client to connect with their other systems. This is a post-sales role that combines data engineering and solutions engineering. You'll take a signed SOW, do the final scoping, and deliver it. We want an engineer with strong ETL and data pipeline skills who has worked directly with customers and is comfortable owning a project from scoping to go-live, rather than waiting for tickets.
What will you be doing?
- Own integration projects from start to finish (typically around 6 months, and we're working to shorten that). You'll build connectors that sync key customer data into client systems, such as SAP raw-material lot numbers, so chemists know what materials they have and where they are.
- Work with customer IT teams to get systems talking to each other (for example, IP whitelisting), and with subject matter experts to define data mapping and transformation. You'll guide customers on best practices for where their data should live in the client.
- Build customer-specific connectors on the client's standardized integration harness, using strong ETL and pipeline practices. We're moving toward Databricks.
- Scope work carefully and use AI coding agents and teammates for the bulk of the build. You need enough engineering judgment to review and question their output.
- Act as the technical point of contact for customers: roughly weekly syncs when a project kicks off, more often near launch, async updates in between, and customer visits about once a quarter. An engagement manager supports the relationship.
