Job summary

Johnson County Community College seeks an Integrated English Language Education and Training Lead to design and refine EL curricula, coach instructors, and ensure compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.

The role includes teaching EL classes, assessing TABE scores for placement, supporting part-time leads, and contributing to policy development, partnerships, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, TESOL, English, Linguistics, or a related field with 3+ years of experience teaching English to adult, non-native speakers.
• 2+ years of curriculum experience ensuring compliance with program standards and federal and state regulations.
• Proficient in using technology to enhance classroom learning.
• Flexible schedule is required to meet the needs of the program.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement curricula to comply with funding requirements and continuously improve instruction and outcomes.
• Coach instructors on curriculum requirements and observe classrooms for compliance.
• Support EL Integrated Education and Training (IET) classes, including on-site programming and community partners.
• Train and mentor new EL instructors and assist the EL Program Coordinators with teacher observations and coaching.
