Position Summary

STLCC- The Lead Instructor, Healthcare Workforce Training performs duties necessary to instruct and support accelerated healthcare training programs. This role ensures high-quality classroom and clinical instruction aligned with employer needs, credentialing standards, and industry expectations; maintains curriculum and instructional materials; and supports effective program operations. The Lead Instructor collaborates with the Senior Program Manager, Assistant Program Manager, Academic Lead, employer partners, and instructional support teams to promote student success, instructional quality, and overall program effectiveness.

Primary Duties Performed

• Instruct in accelerated healthcare training programs, including clinical skills and exam readiness.
• Implement multiple, effective teaching approaches appropriate to diverse student learning needs.
• Evaluate, grade, and document student progress in accordance with established guidelines.
• Monitor student behavior, attendance, and clinical performance and provide required notifications.
• Provide academic guidance to students and refer personal concerns to Career Pathway Coaches.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Assist Academic Lead in supervision of part time instructors.
• Update and maintain existing curriculum in collaboration with the Academic Lead to meet employer needs, credentialing standards, and industry expectations.
• Serve as a key subject matter expert to support the research, development, and delivery of new training programs aligned with regional healthcare demands.
• Maintain current knowledge, skills, and certification in healthcare instruction.
• Monitor equipment, labs, and clinical materials; identify maintenance, repair, and replacement needs.
• Support clinical lab inventory management, including supply tracking and purchasing requests across campuses.
• Maintain relationships with employer and community partners; support student recruitment as needed.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development activities to stay current with healthcare trends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required and three (3) years of related experience.
• Current and active healthcare licensure or certification (e.g., RN, LPN, MA, Allied Health credential).
• Master’s Degree preferred.

Working Conditions

• Standard office, classroom, and clinical lab settings.
• Occasional local travel to employer partner sites, clinical locations, and training events.

Physical Requirements

• Work involves mobility within offices, classrooms, labs, and clinical environments.
• May require lifting, equipment setup, and hands-on demonstration of clinical skills.
