Job summary

Computer Systems Institute (CSI) in Chicago seeks an experienced part-time Healthcare: Clinical Program Instructor to teach a range of clinical and administrative courses. You will plan and deliver instruction with the approved curriculum, preparing lesson plans and delivering lectures while guiding students through project-based learning and real-world job skills.

The role involves assisting students, evaluating progress, and reporting SAP to the Academic Dean.

Qualifications

• BS degree in healthcare or related field.
• 2 years of recent clinical or medical assisting experience.
• Preferred healthcare industry certification CEHRS, CBCS, CCA, BLS, CPT, CET, CCMA or RMA.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver in-class instruction with the approved curriculum.
• Teach multiple healthcare courses listed in the program.
• Prepare lesson plans for each class session and deliver lectures.
• Facilitate Project-Based Learning (PBL) and assist students in the learning process.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress using various assessment tools.
• Maintain records to report Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to the Academic Dean.
• Attend quarterly campus-wide instructor in-service meetings and pursue professional development.
• Provide academic advising and support to ensure student growth and retention.

General Summary:

The Healthcare Career Program, Clinical Track Instructor will teach the following courses:

• Professional Development
• Customer Service
• Medical Administrative Procedures
• Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology
• Foundations of Clinical Procedures
• Lab Procedures and Phlebotomy
• Advanced Clinical Procedures
• Medical Law, Ethics, and Patient Relations
• Medical Billing and Coding

The instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering in-class instruction with the approved curriculum.

• Teach up to 27.5 hours week.
• Prepare lesson plans for each class session.
• Deliver lectures and facilitate Project-Based Learning (PBL).
• Assist students in the learning process.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress through the use of various assessment tools.
• Keep necessary records to report Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to the Academic Dean.
• Attend and participate in quarterly campus-wide instructor in-service meetings as required. Stay well-informed about the advancements in teaching by attending professional development activities outside of CSI.
• Prepare students for real-world job skills and certifications (when applicable).
• Actively contribute to program improvement through the use of committee involvement.
• Provide support through academic advising to ensure student growth and retention.
• Additional tasks as needed.

Education and Experience:

• BS degree in healthcare or a related field
• 2 years of recent clinical or medical assisting experience.
