Job Description Summary
Full-time nine-month faculty position beginning with the Spring 2027 semester. The College desires candidates with ongoing professional development interests, a love of teaching, and enthusiasm for campus and college committees and activities. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and supervisory skills as well as the desire to build and maintain relationships with our business, industry, and educational partners. Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, development of student learning outcomes and assessment, serving on college committees, advising and registering students, maintaining office hours, and fulfilling all the duties and responsibilities of lead instructors as required. Additionally this position will supervise adjuncts and other faculty in the Business Administration area. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, online, and/or hybrid classes. This position is subject to state funding.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION :
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Business Administration from a regionally accredited institution.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS :- Knowledge of educational technology and applications in instructional delivery.
- Commitment to successful student learning outcomes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Evidence of ability to work cooperatively in a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS :
- Minimum three years of teaching experience in higher education including online teaching experience.18 graduate hours in Economics or Accounting are a plus.
- Knowledge of Internet and network protocols, including related use of tools and client/server applications preferred.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Experience teaching both hybrid and online formats.
- Experience teaching with Canvas as the LMS .
- Experience with program review and PLO /SLO’s.
Under the direction of the designated Academic Dean, the Lead Instructor works cooperatively with BCCC faculty/staff to perform the following:
- All duties assigned to an instructor.
- Schedule, conduct, and attend faculty meetings as required.
- Fill in for other instructors as needed.
- Review available instructional materials.
- Test and make minor repairs on equipment; estimate time, materials, and equipment required for various assignments; requisition materials and supplies as required.
- Submit requests for materials, supplies, and equipment to upper level instructional staff as a part of the annual budget process.
- May submit requisitions for facilities needs based on space evaluation.
- Submit class schedules and book orders for courses in assigned program areas.
- Ensure faculty maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance; maintain other records and data bases according to program needs or accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with instructors in the creation of syllabi; the establishment of objectives, learning outcomes, and assessments; and the selection of textbooks, periodicals, and other resources.
- Plan and conduct advisory committee meetings.
- Assist the Academic Dean in long- and short-range planning and determining an annual budget.
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate qualified adjunct instructors (in conjunction with other full-time faculty members in the discipline, as appropriate).
- Recommend adjuncts in conjunction with the Academic Dean.
- Ensure the adherence to safe and appropriate work practices and procedures.
- Verify the work of assigned faculty for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Conduct performance evaluations of faculty in the department.
- Ensure that syllabi are accurately posted to the associated Blackboard site for all sections of all courses being taught each semester.
- Train instructors (especially new instructors).
- Lead, plan, provide training to, and review the work of faculty responsible for providing classroom instruction and laboratory demonstration services relating to a specific academic program.
- Communicate with upper level instructional staff regarding ongoing implementation and evaluation of assigned instructional programs; participate in systematic program evaluation.
- Lead and participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and change.
- Work with other full- and part-time faculty in the discipline or program area to ensure the quality and appropriateness of all course offerings relative to the North Carolina Community College System Curriculum Standards.
- Responsible for degree and/or program and/ or content coordination, curriculum development and review. Note: Before a new course can be added, a course number changed, or a course description rewritten, a Curriculum Change Packet must be completed and approved by the Curriculum Committee. This process is coordinated by the Academic Dean.
- Serve as the primary point of referral for a student complaint or concern within an academic program.
- Support the mission, vision, goals, and strategic directions of the college.
