Job summary

Beaufort County Community College in Washington, NC seeks an adjunct instructor to teach Boat Building and/or Boat Manufacture and Service. The position is part-time, with 4–6 hours per week, serving a diverse student population in a hands-on, shop-based environment.

The role requires hands-on marine experience and the ability to design engaging lesson plans, assess student work, and uphold safety and college policies. This is an on-site teaching opportunity at the Washington campus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in boat repair, maintenance, and marine systems (e.g., engines, fiberglass, electrical, hull repair).
• 3+ years of professional experience in the marine industry or a related trade.
• Ability to create lesson plans, communicate clearly and instruct safe work habits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality instruction for all courses taught in the areas of Boat Building and Boat Manufacture and Service.
• Maintain accurate record keeping for all courses.
• Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner.
• Comply with the college's policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications
