Job summary

Columbia College in Sonora, CA seeks an Instructional Support Specialist, Fire Technology, to provide advanced laboratory support, assist instructors, and oversee technical staff.

The role coordinates equipment, ensures safety, maintains inventories, and performs complex administrative tasks within the Fire Technology program. 40 hours/week, 12 months, some evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Two years equivalent to an Instructional Support Technician within YCCD.
• Associate degree in life science or related field preferred; relevant experience acceptable.
• Ability to supervise technical staff and coordinate lab activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors with complex instructional materials and experiments.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain firefighting equipment and simulators.
• Oversee disposal of hazardous materials following regulations.
• Order and inventory chemicals and lab supplies.
