Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Post Falls, ID is seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead a Process Control & Reliability team for a new Greenfield facility.
You will oversee maintenance and reliability strategies to maximize equipment availability and drive downtime toward zero. You will develop the team, define preventive maintenance practices, and collaborate with Manufacturing Operations across SEL to implement long-term improvements.
This position is part of a unique opportunity to help launch SEL's newest manufacturing operations from the ground up. As an Engineering Manager within the Process Control & Reliability team, you will build, develop, and lead a team responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of manufacturing equipment in a new Greenfield facility. Process Control & Reliability focuses on ensuring equipment operates safely, predictably, and reliably. This team partners closely with Manufacturing Operations and other SEL facilities to execute preventive maintenance strategies, respond to equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long term corrective actions. The ultimate goal is simple; maximize equipment availability and drive unplanned downtime toward zero. In this role, you will establish maintenance practices, develop team capabilities, and create the systems needed to support a growing manufacturing operation. You will lead a team of skilled technical professionals while building a culture centered on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Working alongside teams across SEL, you will help define how reliability is measured, improved, and sustained for years to come. B.S. in Engineering field or equivalent combination of education/experience 8+ years of related engineering or management experience Strong technical knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines/technologies Demonstrated ability to design/produce/support successful products/processes Ability to manage product line/process problems requiring creativity, ingenuity, and guidance from manager Strong desire to develop employees and lead projects Ability to define general approaches and specific solutions to technical problems Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s)

Must be willing and able to travel extensively during the first 6–12 months of employment while the facility is under development. Travel will primarily be to SEL manufacturing facilities in Pullman, Washington and Lewiston, Idaho for training, process familiarization, and relationship building. Travel is expected to occur in multiweek increments and may total approximately 8–12 weeks or more based on business needs and facility startup activities.
