Job summary

Sutter Home & Hearth is seeking an experienced Lead Installation Technician / Crew Lead to lead a small crew in high‑quality residential fireplace and related installations in the Seattle area. This hands‑on role combines field leadership with skilled trades, from rough‑in to finish work, while ensuring safety and craftsmanship.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands‑on installation or construction experience, strong problem‑solving and communication skills, and a calm, customer‑facing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on skilled‑trade, mechanical installation, or residential construction experience, in rough‑in and finish stages.
• Experience independently completing installation or construction projects.
• Experience leading or training at least one other crew member.
• Experience following codes and reading/drawing from detailed plans, specifications, and manufacturer instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Experience working directly with homeowners, customers, contractors, or other project stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and finish quality.
• Safety‑first mindset; able to work on ladders, roofs, gas, and fire.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small installation crew while working hands‑on.
• Install, uninstall, and service fireplaces, stoves, venting, fire pits, BBQs, and related products.
• Perform rough‑in and finish‑stage installation work in new construction, remodels, and occupied homes.
• Plan and sequence daily work to balance efficiency with safety and quality.
• Read and follow plans, specifications, schematics, and manuals; work to code.
