Job summary

Adams Stove Company in Adams, MA seeks a hands-on hearth installation professional to lead a small crew of three. This is not desk-based management; you will lead, install, and troubleshoot alongside the team.

You will install wood pellet and gas stoves, fireplaces, and inserts, reading manuals and coordinating venting, chimney systems, and related components. A CSL license and strong customer communication are required.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience with wood pellet and/or gas hearth appliance installation.
• Experience leading or supervising other installers or tradespeople.
• Strong understanding of venting, clearances, hearth requirements, and installation procedures.
• Ability to read and follow manufacturer installation instructions.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on hearth installation professional to lead a small installation team of three. This is a not a desk-based management position. We are looking for someone who can lead the crew, make sound decisions in the field, communicate with customers and management, and work alongside the crew performing installations. The ideal candidate has substantial experience installing and servicing wood pellet and gas stoves, fireplaces, and inserts, understands venting and installation requirements, and is ready to take ownership of the job from preparation through completion.

The Position:

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone who is both a skilled installer and a capable field leader.

You Should Have

• Significant hands-on experience with wood pellet and/or gas hearth appliance installation.
• Experience installing stoves, fireplaces, and/or inserts.
• Strong understanding of venting, clearances, hearth requirements, and installation procedures.
• Ability to read and follow manufacturer installation instructions.
• Experience leading or supervising other installers or tradespeople.
• Ability to diagnose and solve problems in the field.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• A strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work physically and safely in construction environments
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Current Construction Supervisor License (CSL), as required for the position.

This Position Is NOT:

• A construction manager who primarily manages from an office.
• A project manager who wants to delegate all field work.
• Someone whose experience is limited to supervising subcontractors.
• An entry-level installer who is not yet capable of leading a crew.

This Position IS:

We are looking for a Working Foreman who enjoys being in the field. You will be expected to lead the crew and do the work.
