Job summary

ITW in Illinois seeks a seasoned Set-up Technician for injection molding operations, ensuring molding machines and peripheral equipment produce quality parts efficiently.

You will perform mold setup and adjustments, troubleshoot equipment, conduct quality checks, and maintain set-up sheets and shift records. The role requires knowledge of Wittmann robots, OSHA practices, and a flexible schedule including overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 5+ years Set-up Technician experience in plastic injection molding environment.
• Understanding of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment operations and repair.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of Wittmann robots.
• Understanding of OSHA requirements (Lockout/Tagout, Forklift).
• Flexible schedule including overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Mold set-up and adjustment on molding and assembly repairs; equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Maintain machines by verifying set-up parameters and monitor readings.
• Perform quality checks and material handling, including filling and emptying machine hoppers.
• Maintain set-up sheets and production records for shift.
• Ensure last shot in capture for molds exiting production and maintain housekeeping.
• Stop molding process if quality concerns arise.
• Provide training to Material Handlers and Operators.
• Support cost-saving, labor, and ergonomic improvements.
• Assist with shift needs and complete assigned tasks.
