Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Pearland, TX, is seeking an experienced machinist to join our production team onsite. The role focuses on performing precision machining, setting up equipment, and ensuring quality while adhering to safety and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-5+ years of shop experience as a machinist.
• Technical training in shop math, blueprint reading, and GDT preferred.
• Ideal candidate possesses 8+ years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all plant safety initiatives, report potentially unsafe conditions and abide by policies.
• Engage in lean manufacturing principles, kaizen events, 5S, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with Production Supervisor to prioritize staffing and meet demand.
• Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure procedures meet quality requirements.
• Report quality, process, equipment, material, and labor issues to supervision.
• Provide daily job status updates for the 9:00 a.m. production meeting.
• Work from drawings and specifications to complete machining operations.
• Set up machines to achieve close tolerances and proper alignment.
• Update and monitor Production Status boards and attend Tier meetings.
• Collaborate with Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering to resolve issues.
