Summit Polymers is seeking a Department Manager, Molding in Michigan to lead a fast-paced 5 day/24 hour operation with 40 injection molding machines, mold techs, utilities, and supervisors. You’ll drive on-time delivery and quality to downstream teams in paint and assembly, while mentoring shifts and ensuring safety and 5S standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required for management in molding.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in molding.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, coaching and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Meets safety, productivity, machine availability, scrap and delivery objectives.
• Manages staffing and machine loading and ensures training.
• Leads through hands-on leadership across all shifts.
• Maintains safety 5S and collaborates on continuous improvement.
• Supports new launches and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Adheres to TS16949 standards and procedures.
