Job summary

Rehrig Pacific Company seeks a Lead Tooling Technician to serve as the site’s primary technical expert for injection mold maintenance, repair, and reliability improvements. You will bridge the Tooling Manager and Mold Technicians, building internal capabilities and reducing external repairs.

You will own mold health, guide repair scopes, and train technicians to meet safety, quality, and production standards. Join a team that values craftsmanship and practical solutions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; journeyman mold maker preferred.
• 7+ years in injection mold maintenance, mold building, or toolroom work.
• Strong communication and safety/documentation standards.
• Advanced hot runner/valve gate, hydraulic and cooling systems knowledge.
• Proficient in precision measurement and blueprint reading.
• Experience training technicians and reducing external tooling spend.
• CMMS knowledge (UpKeep) and crane/rigger/forklift certified or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead complex mold diagnostics, repair, and reassembly.
• Audit toolroom safety and 5S compliance.
• Lead repair and reliability improvements to reduce spend.
• Investigate tooling events and recommend corrective actions.
• Repair complex mold failures and advise on tooling decisions.
• Own mold health status and repair plan to green.
• Define repair scope for in-house mid/large repairs.
• Develop Mold Technicians through training and mentoring.
• Create and maintain repair procedures and mold binders.
• Coordinate daily tooling priorities and technician workload.
• Maintain mold histories, repair records and CMMS data.
• Advise on mold condition, risk, and return-to-service.
