Aprios - Diversified Plastics, Inc. in Vista, CA is seeking a Lead Tool Maker to oversee mold maintenance, troubleshoot tooling challenges and mentor a toolroom team. This hands-on, player-coach role focuses on reliability, precision, and production uptime.

You’ll lead PM schedules, diagnose complex injection mold issues, manage multi‑cavity/hot runner tools, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety and quality.

Competenze

• 10+ years of toolmaking experience, including multi‑cavity/hot runner molds.
• 3+ years in lead or supervisory role.
• Expertise in maintaining and repairing injection molds to spec.
• Ability to read tool drawings, blueprints and CAD files.
• Experience using ERP/manufacturing systems to document maintenance (IQMS preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

• Lead mold maintenance and precision repairs to reduce downtime.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules based on shot counts and tool history.
• Diagnose and resolve injection mold issues (flash, venting, dimensional inaccuracies).
• Oversee repairs to restore tools to original specs and maximize tool life.
• Manage multi‑cavity, hot runner tools and spare parts inventory.
• Provide hands‑on training and mentorship to toolmakers and apprentices.
